JT Alessi
JT Alessi - Guitar
JT was bitten by the music bug early in life. There are recordings of him singing "Rainbow Connection" at the ripe old age of 4. He got his first guitar on his 12th birthday from Don Parsons (a friend of the family) and has been playing ever since. Truth be told he started playing for the same reason most musicians start... Chicks dig it, man!
Around the same time JT was learning to eek out some weak guitar parts, his older sister was friends with an Atlanta band that was hot on the scene. That band would change JT's life not because he liked them as much as the band contained a person he would later become friends with and play music with.(Yep, Tommy Jones in Show n Tell). At around 18 JT and Tommy started playing music together. No one had ever told JT he should complain about plaing in flat keys, which is why he was so easily convinced by Tommy that it was natural for a guitarist to learn Billy Joel and Elton John. JT often mused at how differently he would play if he had been learning Nirvana instead (or if he would even still play). After several years of jamming with Tommy, JT took off on his own to do the acoustic thing with a friend from growing up, Mike Parker. They formed the duo Jamik. During the short lived life of Jamik, JT got a call from Tommy to come out and jam one day and thus `ere was born.
In highschool, JT studied under Dr. Susan Cotton in vocal performance and musical theory. He competed in state competitions in Barbershop quartet winning 2nd place at the Mosaic competition. JT worked as a professional actor with The Atlanta Workshop Players as well as appearing in a handful of movies and a multitude of commercials.
JT is a member of an Atlanta based, Beatles cover band called The Mystery Trip and can be found playing solo acoustic sets or with The Ralph Roddenbery Band or just Ralph Roddenbery. JT was a guest vocalist on 2 songs on RRB’s newest CD titled “For So Long”.
JT thinks you would be daft to miss a live show.
